Urban.com.au recently sat down with David Dragun, a key figure from Golden Sedayu, to discuss one of Perth’s most ambitious and exciting new developments: Burswood Point. Hosted by Urban.com.au CEO Mike Bird, the conversation delved into the scale, design, and vision behind this transformative project aimed at helping buyers better understand the development and the team behind it.
Burswood Point, a collaborative project between Golden Group and Sedayu, promises to be a "city within a city" spanning over 38 acres on a peninsula just 2.5 kilometers from Perth’s CBD. Boasting 2.5 kilometers of riverfront, 110,000 square meters of parkland, and 91 square meters of retail and commercial space, this development aims to offer unparalleled luxury and convenience. David Dragun emphasized that the project's sheer scale and diverse offerings make it affordable and accessible for a wide range of buyers.
Burswood Point will roll out over the next 15 to 20 years, accommodating an estimated 4,500 residents. This phased approach ensures growth potential for early buyers, as later stages will likely see increased property values. The first release, Somerset West, includes 95 premium apartments with one, two, three, and four-bedroom options, as well as 74 green-titled homes with prices ranging from $3.25 million to $8.8 million.
With a focus on diverse living spaces, Burswood Point is designed to cater to a broad range of buyers. Downsizers, young families, and even international buyers are showing interest in the development. The apartments offer premium finishes, high ceilings, and sustainability features like double glazing. The development has been thoughtfully planned to ensure affordability through shared amenities, such as a 25-meter infinity pool and gym, which help keep strata fees manageable.
Golden Sedayu’s collaboration with Golden Group, a well-established West Australian developer, brings both local and international experience to the project. Golden Sedayu has a proven track record of building large-scale communities, giving buyers confidence in the delivery and longevity of Burswood Point.
Despite the current high-interest rate environment, Perth has remained a strong market, with impressive capital growth. Buyers investing in Burswood Point will benefit from this ongoing trend, coupled with the strategic location of the development. Situated near entertainment hubs, universities, and just 15 minutes from the airport, Burswood Point offers a convenient, luxurious lifestyle for residents.
The architectural firm DKO has designed the Somerset apartments with meticulous attention to detail. Featuring Gaggenau appliances, timber flooring, and high ceilings, the homes exude luxury. Buyers have the option to upgrade certain features to further customize their living space.
David Dragun highlighted Golden Sedayu’s extensive experience in large-scale developments. With backing from Sedayu’s expertise in building entire cities and townships across Indonesia, and Golden Group’s 28-year track record in Western Australia, buyers can rest assured that Burswood Point will be completed to the highest standards.
