DCN Group Sets a New Benchmark with Bankstown’s First Latent Defects Insurance-Backed Development

DCN Group has set a new industry standard in Bankstown by becoming the first developer in the area to implement Resilience Insurance's Latent Defects Insurance (LDI) for their latest project, The Hoskins. This pioneering insurance policy provides a 10-year warranty for off-the-plan apartment buyers, offering protection against structural defects post-completion.

Resilience Latent Defects Insurance: A catalyst for higher property valuations and resale confidence

A Commitment to Quality Assurance

DCN Group's Managing Director, Nadim Saad, emphasized that adopting LDI was an easy decision. As a builder-developer with a legacy dating back to 1987, DCN has consistently prioritised high-quality construction. "By securing LDI, we are not just reinforcing our commitment to excellence, but also sending a strong message to buyers that we stand behind our projects long after completion," Saad explains.

Ensuring High Construction Standards with Rigorous Oversight

Resilience LDI is available only to developers and builders who meet stringent trustworthiness and quality criteria. The insurance process includes extensive reviews of project plans and ongoing monthly inspections by independent technical inspectors, ensuring high standards throughout construction. For The Hoskins—a two-building project on Marshall Street featuring 44 apartments—DCN partnered with leading construction consultants and SDSS to uphold strict quality oversight.

Strengthening Market Confidence

The integration of LDI marks a significant milestone for the off-the-plan apartment sector, boosting buyer confidence and enhancing industry transparency. As the second Sydney developer to adopt LDI, following Urban Property Group, DCN is at the forefront of a crucial industry transformation. "This is a major step forward for the sector," Nadim states, attributing the growing accountability to recent initiatives led by the Building Commissioner.

Educating Buyers and Raising Industry Standards

Modern property buyers are becoming more knowledgeable and discerning. Saad notes a growing trend where prospective purchasers actively inquire about quality assurances like iCIRT ratings and LDI. "Buyers today want more than just a promise—they want concrete assurances that their investments are protected. LDI delivers exactly that," he adds.

A Game-Changer for Developers and Buyers

For property developers and project managers, incorporating LDI into their projects demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and buyer protection. As DCN Group has showcased, leveraging LDI not only enhances project appeal but also cements a developer's reputation as a leader in a more transparent and accountable industry.
